The smartphone market, especially in China, has played an important role in small & medium size TFT-LCD panel shipments. However, affected by telecom operators' reduction in mobile phone subsidies and the belated issuance of 4G licenses in China, the replacement demand for 4G models did not realize in 2014. Besides, the low cost trend has brought down panel ASP despite constant improvements in specifications. This report analyzes the development of worldwide and Taiwanese small and medium size TFT-LCD panels for 2015 and beyond.
